Esta canción fue escrita por John Flansburgh pero interpretada por el Grupo They May be Giants, los cuales la dieron a conocer al público en Febrero del 2000 en su disco homónimo.

Boss of me, ganadora de un Grammy es el tema principal de la serie de la cadena FOX "Malcom in the middle" (Malcom el de enmedio). La serie consiste en la lucha por sobrevivir de un adolescente superdotado llamado Malcolm, en medio de una familia completamente disfuncional.
